VinBoheme Outdoor Dinner Experience

VinBoheme is owned and proudly operated by two Black women, Roberta and Monique, who effortlessly offer experiences where attendees feel seen and heard. Their love for community is brought to the table in this dinner series called: At Our Table.

Each dinner features a creative chef, showcasing the talents of creators who are of color and identify as women. The multi-course family-style dinner will be led by chef Dionne McDonald and feature foods from the African diaspora: oxtail, mackerel, jollof, watermelon poké, mango gazpacho.

To match that passion, co-owner & sommelier, Monique, has selected 5 wines that will paired perfectly with the feast. A portion of proceeds went to @thetriggerprojectdc whose focus is on changing the norm and narrative of gun violence in communities of color.

The challenge was capturing this event with limited equipment. Only my phone was hired to document snippets of ambiance from the evening so that it could be used for social media material. I decided to bring my camera along to freeze a few moments from the summer evening.

“Hosting our first wine dinner left us feeling connected and inspired. We made new friends for ourselves and each other; it refreshed & reinforced everything I've felt about the diversity of DC.”
